Change to Arrival Procedure

Big Change This Year

When dropping off your children in the morning, please know that they will only be entering through the main office door. Our teachers have had a goal to greet every student by name at the door as they enter each day. This has been challenging with students entering from both the exterior and interior classrooms doors. So to help our teachers greet your children, we will have all students enter the school and go to their classroom through the hallway doors.

Thank you for understanding this change in our procedures.

Arrival & Pick-Up Procedures

Procedimientos de llegada y recogida

To create a safer arrival and dismissal, we need your help! Please reference the map on the following page for our drop-off and pick-up procedures.

  • 🟢Green zone: Please only drop off and pick up students in the green zone on the school side of Olympic Avenue.

  • 🔵Blue zone: The blue zone is where cars wait to turn on to Olympic Avenue. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended if you are waiting on 8th street. It is a no parking zone and causes the road to be dangerously narrow.

  • 🔴Red zone: The red zones are no parking, stopping, or standing areas. Please do not park or wait in the red zones as it is unsafe for students. This is especially important at the corner of 8th and Olympic because drivers cannot see people in the crosswalk. Parking enforcement could ticket you in these areas.

  • 🟡Yellow zone: The yellow zone is for buses only. Please do not block the entrance or exit.

Parking and walking over to the school in the neighborhood between Rainier Avenue and Olympic Avenue or on 7th Street is highly recommended.

Be sure to inform your student's teacher of their go-home-plan(bus, pick-up, and/or walking). If needed, please make sure to call an hour before school is out for any changes to their go-home-plan.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Social/Emotional Learning Screener Information and Opt Out Notification

Dear Naval Avenue families:

Bremerton School District is committed to supporting every student's social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. SEL screening provides school staff with valuable information about how students are feeling, interacting with others, and engaging at school.

The results help schools better understand student needs at both the individual and school-wide levels. This information is used to create supportive learning environments, identify students who may benefit from additional support, and guide school-wide planning to help all students succeed.

Families who do not want their child to participate in the SEL screening may opt out by contacting their child's homeroom teacher or school counselor before September 7, 2026. The teacher or counselor will explain the opt-out process and ensure the student is not included in the screening.

To see what students will be asked on our screeners, you can view the questions here:
