Welcome Back!
Hi Naval Avenue Families,
Welcome to the new school year! We are so excited to see you and your students again for another wonderful school year. Right now, we are busy working to prepare the school so we can welcome everyone back at our Open House in two weeks.
You will find information below to help you prepare for the start of the school year.
Open House: Our Open House will be Thursday, August 28th from 5:00-6:00 PM. We look forward to seeing students and families there!
Finding Out My Child's Teacher: This information will be available on Skyward and at our Open House. If you are not able to make to Open House, many adults will be avaible the first day of school to help your child know where their classroom is. If you need help with Skyward, contact our office.
First Day of School (First-Fifth Grades): Our first day of school will be Wednesday, September 3rd for all grades except kindergarten. This will be an early release day, ending at 1:40 PM.
Kindergarten Information:
- Kindergarten student's first day of school will be, Monday, September 8th.
- Teachers will be reaching out to families for WaKIDS conferences on Wednesday, 9/3; Thursday, 9/4; or Friday 9/5. These meetings are so that teachers can get to know each family and student individually, so look for information to come out in the next few weeks.
School Hours: Our schedule will remain the same as last year:
- 8:55 AM - School doors open for students
- 9:05 AM - 3:35 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
- 9:05 AM - 1:40 PM on Wednesdays
If you are new to Naval Avenue Elementary, welcome! You will find that we have great people at this school who are passionate about working with children and helping them be successful!

Hola familias de Naval Avenue,
¡Bienvenidos al nuevo año escolar! Nos emociona mucho verlos a ustedes y a sus estudiantes para otro maravilloso año escolar. En este momento, estamos ocupados trabajando para preparar la escuela para que podamos darles la bienvenida a todos nuevamente en nuestra jornada de puertas abiertas en dos semanas.
A continuación encontrará información que le ayudará a prepararse para el inicio del año escolar.
Jornada de Puertas Abiertas: Nuestra Jornada de Puertas Abiertas será el jueves 28 de agosto de 5:00 p. m. a 6:00 p. m. ¡Esperamos ver a los estudiantes y sus familias allí!
Cómo encontrar al maestro de mi hijo: Esta información estará disponible en nuestra Jornada de Puertas Abiertas. Si no pueden asistir, muchos adultos estarán disponibles el primer día de clases para ayudar a su hijo a saber dónde está su aula.
Primer día de clases (primero a quinto grado): Nuestro primer día de clases será el miércoles 3 de septiembre para todos los grados, excepto kínder. Este día será de salida temprana, terminando a la 1:40 p. m.
Información sobre kínder:
- El primer día de clases para los estudiantes de kínder será el lunes 8 de septiembre.

To create a safer arrival and dismissal, we need your help! Please reference the map on the following page for our drop-off and pick-up procedures. 🟢Green zone: Please only drop off and pick up students in the green zone on the school side of Olympic Avenue. Zona verde: Por favor, deje y recoja a los estudiantes únicamente en la zona verde del lado escolar de Olympic Avenue.
🔴Red zone: The red zones are no parking, stopping, or standing areas. Please do not park or wait in the red zones as it is unsafe for students. This is especially important at the corner of 8th and Olympic because drivers cannot see people in the crosswalk. Parking enforcement could ticket you in these areas. Zona roja: Las zonas rojas son áreas en las que no se permite estacionar, detenerse ni permanecer de pie. No estacione ni espere en las zonas rojas, ya que no es seguro para los estudiantes. Be sure to inform your student's teacher of their go-home-plan(bus, pick-up, and/or walking). If needed, please make sure to call an hour before school is out for any changes to their go-home-plan.
