• We started i-Ready testing this week, hope to be done by Friday! Students are working hard and showing so much growth!
• Last week, we got a visit from the mayor of Bremerton and the Roatry Club, they donated dictionaries to all our 3rd graders! If your student hasn’t shown it to you, ask them about it!
• In math, we are continuing to work on story problems and fractions and other material that will be covered on the state test. 
• Our ELA focus has mostly centered around writing. Students have writing journals that they are using almost everyday to build stamina. Students should be able to write at least one paragraph at this point, for informational, opinion or narrative writing prompts. 
• SEL focus this week and month is courage. We have also been having conversations about responsibility and self advocating.

• Comenzamos las pruebas i-Ready esta semana. ¡Esperamos terminar para el viernes! ¡Los estudiantes se están esforzando mucho y muestran un gran progreso!
• La semana pasada, recibimos la visita del alcalde de Bremerton y del Club Roatry. ¡Donaron diccionarios a todos nuestros estudiantes de 3.er grado! Si su estudiante no se los ha mostrado, ¡pregúntele!
• En matemáticas, seguimos trabajando en problemas de texto, fracciones y otros materiales que se cubrirán en el examen estatal.
• Nuestro enfoque en ELA se ha centrado principalmente en la escritura. Los estudiantes tienen diarios de escritura que usan casi a diario para desarrollar resistencia. Deberían ser capaces de escribir al menos un párrafo para temas de escritura informativa, de opinión o narrativa.

• Spanish Language Arts: We began our water unit. We will be exploring the essential question of: “ How important is water for living things?” “¿Cuál es la importancia del agua para los seres vivos?”. We began learning about the salmon that live in the rivers of kitsap county and read some cultural legends on water.

  • 4th: Students have been completing their iready assessment. We are also working on decomposing fractions and renaming fractions from mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa.
  • 5th: Students have been completing their iready assessment. We are also working on decimal place value and rounding decimals. 
• We went on our field trip this week to the Puget Sound Naval Museum.

• Lengua y literatura en español: Comenzamos nuestra unidad sobre el agua. Exploraremos la pregunta esencial: "¿Qué tan importante es el agua para los seres vivos?". Empezamos a aprender sobre el salmón que vive en los ríos del condado de Kitsap y leímos algunas leyendas culturales sobre el agua.
