• ELA: We are continuing to practice writing and began our animal research. 
• Math: We are continuing to develop our understanding of fractions, specifically equivalent fractions and how to plot fractions on number lines.

• MATH: We have started working on the writing decimal numbers and converting decimals to fractions and vice-versa. 
• We are learning about Celilo Falls and the Indigenous people of Washington and building towards learning and writing about the Boldt decision .
• We are still learning about the structure/function and behavior of animals, specifically tree squirrels and flying squirrels.
• Next week we will start learning about human growth and development. If you opted your student out, they will not be in the classroom during the lessons you opted out of. If you have more questions about the new curriculum please ask. 
• SEL: Our character trait for the month of May is creativity! It’s great to have the students share ways they are/have been creative.

  • 4th: We have begun our comparing fractions unit, using manipulatives, and drawing diagrams to help deepen our understanding.
  • 5th: We have started learning how to multiply decimals! 
• ELA: We are working on completing a process grid to demonstrate the effects of pollution on living things. We have also discussed the pros/cons of dams and how they affect the environment. 
• SEL: Character trait of the month: creativity. This week we have also discussed how to succeed at something we want and the importance of not giving up. 
• Dual Language Showcase: Our dual language showcase is next Friday at the East Bremerton community at the Bremerton Community Gym from 6:30-8pm. Please come support! Our class has been practicing a song that highlights the dual language program!
• Next Monday, June 2nd, we will start learning about human growth and development.
